Kansas City area travelers and folks new to the area frequently ask this question. “Where to smoke?” is usually the first phrase cigars enthusiasts type into the search bar of their web browser. La Cultura Cigar & Social is the first result to appear and for good reason. Call me biased, but the lounge is the best cigar smoking destination you will find.
La Cultura Cigar and Social is in the Kansas City Crossroads. It is blocks away from major downtown La Cultura Cigar and Social is in the Kansas City Crossroads. It is blocks away from major downtown hotels like The Westin at Crown Center, Hotel Phillips, Downtown Marriott, and (of course) the Loews Hotel. Parking can be difficult to find for most downtown entertainment locations, but La Cultura has solved this challenge with convenient parking behind the building and easy street parking directly in front of the retail. Finding a place to park your car becomes a non-issue. La Cultura Cigar and Social is also close enough to downtown for Uber or Lyft to be a quick, no-brainer option.
The reaction is the same from all who enter La Cultura: “I have never seen a cigar lounge like this.” La Cultura takes pride in this distinctiveness. The company wasn’t meant to be like any other lounge. It was meant to bring people together for an amazing experience. There is something for everyone to enjoy during their cigar smoking experience. The space includes two large garage doors as well as an indoor fireplace along with 3 TVs in the main lounge including an 85-inch flat screen. La Cultura also has two billiard tables for patrons to enjoy a friendly game of 8 or 9 ball, and did I mention the lounge has an indoor pergola?
The humidor is maintained at correct temperature and humidity with 3 stage reverse osmosis system ensuring the cigars are perfectly maintained. The cigar selection is diverse with the brands like RoMa Craft, Plascencia, Crowned Heads, EP Carrillo, and many more. Owners Ben and Mike are always looking for the best selection of tobaccos for your enjoyment. Make sure to ask the staff any questions you when you arrive. They love to talk about tobacco with aficionados, cigar enthusiasts, and especially first-time cigar smokers wondering what this culture is all about.
La Cultura Cigar and Social doesn’t sell any alcoholic beverages, but you are allowed to bring in your own alcohol. There are many locations around the downtown area to purchase beverages and great distillers like West Bottoms Whiskey Co. in the West Bottoms. They have award winning selection of Whiskeys to pair with your cigar.
Note: Make sure to take the West Bottoms Whiskey Distillery Tour if you are traveling to the area or live here. It’s a great experience with a wealth of knowledge in Whiskey. You are in store for a great time especially if you happen to get on a tour with “Big Ben.” He is usually scheduled for Thursday and Saturday evenings!
Stop on by!
I could go on and on about the amazing amenities La Cultura has to offer. Words are fine and dandy, but you really need to experience it for yourself to get it. It is a place where friends are easily made, and without a doubt, you’ll want to visit again. I have been to more cigar lounges than I can count, but La Cultura has created an experience that I have yet to see matched. We look forward to seeing you and sharing the experience.
